About
‘Order is repetition of units. Chaos is multiplicity without rhythm.’ M. C. Escher
XXIV explores the concept of multiplicity, ordered and limited by geometry and three-dimensional space. There is no rhythm in the composition of the hexahedron, as each of the six faces is unique. There are 24 possible front elevations, 24 edge elevations and 24 isometric perspectives. None of them is repeated. There is not a right nor a wrong viewpoint to look at the piece. Each view shows a completely different artwork, even though it is the same cube. It is a piece of limited multiplicity within hand´s reach.
